Did John Smith ever perform with his horses in the Circus? Was he a trainer and not a performer. I can't remember { a very much used sentence now a days} ever seeing a picture of him.

I remember John Smith from the Cole Show. He was a well respected trainer in his day.
I have a picture of him and "Alabama" Campbell presenting the "boxing" horses.

I'm wondering how those shows kept the wardrobe clean working in dust, mud and rain. Not to mention, with 2 buckets apiece for the performers to wash in and fewer antiperperant products....well you can imagine.

Two buckets were delivered. You could go get as much as you needed. We still came up smelling like roses and shining like a new penny everyday. Elbow Grease is a great cleaner.
