Do you have a photograph of
Frank Bostock's"Jumbo II"?
Reportly the largest elephant in captivity(at least in 1900)
He was brought over from Germany,
and almost killed Some people at the 1901 World's Fair in Buffalo New York,so on the last day of the fair,it was decided to hook him up to the huge electrical tower.
A audience payed to see it,but the mayor canceled it from presurre from ASPCA,so they tried it later without an audience.
Somehow Jumbo II survived the attempted electrocution, just made him buzz and fuzz and smoke a little and wonder what was happening.(possibly wasnt hooked up right.
Jumbo II died a couple of years later though.
I sent out a picture of a Bostock elephant (African Male) pulling a bandwagon, think his name was "Jolly".
Thats the only one that comes to mind.
By the way I stand corrected on the "Wallace Lizzie" matter. She would indeed have been available for movie work in California from the time the Haganbeck-Wallace Show folded out there in the summer of 1938 until she was picked by RBBB in Sept. of 1939 a year later.
Dalilah, maybe you could find out who it is and double her phone bill.
The quote goes that "revenge is sweet" - Personally I find that the act of plotting is a lot more satisfying and provides mental stimulation. cc
Well put Delilah. I think what you said, speaks from all of us and for all of us, god bless you. Thanks to your dad for all the history lessons and more to come.
