The Orton Family #3


After Hiram Orton's retirement his three eldest sons Miles, Dennis and Lester took over the show. During the course of time Dennis died from scarlet fever and pictured above are Miles, Lester and my grandfather R.Z. however I must say I bear a striking resemblance to the jovial looking gentleman in the center.
In time Lester retired, R.Z. took his sizeable family off to start his own circus and Miles became sole owner of the original Show.

Next Sunday I'll go into my great-uncle Miles family who's sons Gordon, Norman and Myron were in Vaudeville and circuses for many years.
Then the following Sunday more on my grandfather's Orton Bros. Circus that lasted up until 1930.
I stopped planning any further ahead ever since the Bank started sending me their calendar one month at a time.
