For you Gena Davis fans, the "Commander-in-Chief" will return to the air April 18. Producer Steven Bocho ("NYPD") has been working on creative changes, since lower ratings right after the start of the year.
Hi Buckles and Fans, Howard Wahlberg (ex Marketing guy from The Big Apple Circus) here again. I don't think I was there for this solo visit of Ms. Davis, but I was there a few years before when she and her then-husband Jeff Goldblum, along with pals Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates came to the show on a bitterly cold January day. Kevin and Jeff were fawning backstage all over a lovely Belgian acrobat named Marie-Pierre Benac, who had a nasty habit of setting her trailer on fire during moves (but that's another story), when Geena and Phoebe slowly began making their way out to 61st Street to get a cab. Being the "celebrity-wrangler" that was part of my job description, I was paralyzed with fear (see my earlier post about Buckles and Anna May and I in Burlington--I used to be paralyzed with fear quite a lot back then)--I didn't know whether to follow the ladies or stay with the men. Finally, shivering in the cold, Ms. Davis asked me if I could "go pry the guys away from that acrobat." I didn't have to say a word. Goldblum took one look at me and said "We're in trouble, right?" I sort of nodded, head down and toe furiously digging in the ice-encrusted marble pavers of Damrosch Park. Kevin said "just leave it to me." I didn't hear what Kevin said to Phoebe to make it all better, but I guess the last 18 years or so tells the tale: they stayed together whereas Jeff and Geena split not long after that. Oh well.

Hey Buckles,
Is this pic from the "Goin Places" tour"? I believe
that is Chris Pouch(Stretch) from the tent crew in
the background.
