This is M. Suzanni Maurice one of Frank Charles Bostock's (the Animal King) trainers, probably when he was in America. I have a similar picture taken in Paris. The act was always billed as "leopards, panthers and jaguars" though I doubt there were any real jaguars - just African and Indian spotted leopards. She did have pumas later on, which I also have pictures of.
I had two Jaguars in the Leopard Act. "Wild Animal Fantasy" No one ever knew it or mentioned it. Nysam and Sultan. I named them when they landed at Ohara Field in Chicago. They had awful urian[pee] burns from being the the shippen crates. JC doctored these two with all the care that was available. Turned into two beautiful animals. I really get pissed when people say bad things about people they have never met and do not know what they are talking about. Another reason I do not believe anything about abuse that is printed by animal rights. I was there.

There's another illustration of the act in the 1904 American edition of Bostock's book.
