My pride and joy!

One of the first things I did when I entered retirement was to have this gateway put up. Barbara sketched the elephants for the metal workers and as you can see I had two of our old bull tubs set in concrete on each side with lamp posts mounted.

I almost forgot to mention that Baby Kay is almost 7 months old now and pooped in the pot for the first time two days ago. At first I thought Barbara was going to take it around the neighborhood to show everybody but I finally talked her out of it.

B&B, it is beautiful! Love what you have done with the tubs and the gateway, with the elephants. Is this the old homestead from before, that ya'll owned? It is a fitting entrance to wonderul and long time elephant/animal trainers/owners/and the greatest performers ever! When was it that you and Barbara actually retired? Thanks, Karen
PS All you need out front on the fence now, is that big ole yellow hard hat from the CW grand opening.

That settles the question whether you can die one day or not! Who would deserve to live at your house after you are gone? Someone will have to dig the tubs up and put them in the Circus Hall of Fame! Gary

No, we had this built 20 years ago or so. The mistake I made was planting these trees so close together, the house is almost obscured from the road. Directly behind us is Sun City Retirement Center and on still nights you can hear those Lawrence Welk records playing and women screaming, a regular cess pool of sin.

Hey Buckles!

I was sorry that you didn't attend the Seattle CFA Convention last July. I have something I want to send to you that I think you'll enjoy. Please email me with your mailing address.

Before I gave up television five years ago, the one program I tried not to miss was Lawrence Welk. You had to admit the wardrobe was great. Everything looked so neat and clean. The PBS station had Welk, Ed Sullican, As Times Goes By, Mystery Theature, Keeping Up Appearences and a few more British programs. Thursday was the night I watched all these programs.

When we lived (I should say camped out) behind DR's house in Hugo my mother watched Lawrence Welk religiously. The closest TV Station was in Dallas so you couldn't see much but the sound was OK. My favorite part was when Mr. Welk advised his viewers to buy a Dodge "Dard".

Have many commented on the height of the entrance? You must have hit a bridge or two with a semi tractor trailor. Gene did once with a seat wagon on Kelly Miller. Pulling a 12 foot high rig through an 11 foot underpass doesn.t work. Your visitors should feel safe when they come to visit. I have a concret jocky boy statue holding a pooper scooper instead of a lantern. at my gate.

I remember when I was on the TV show :To Tell The Truth: Gene and I went next door where the folks had cable in Hugo to watch it. A lot of people did not have running water in their houses then. The bath facilities were something else again.
