Good Morning Buckles,
If my memory doesn't fail me here, I remember this being a three ring display early in the show as the cat act had the curb around the arena and the horses had the curb to work in. Later in the show perhaps at intermission it opened up to what you see here. Naturally Fred Logan's turn was very well recieved and literally gave them the entire tent to work in. When the show was over, you knew you had just seen a FINE circus performance.
Bob
This is what sets the Woodcock elephant shows from the rest. If the elephant handlers had matching wardrobe instead of these work coveralls it would have made a world of difference. Roy Wells wore wardrobe to match Cindys and it was classy. Their act came the closest to compare with Woodcock elephants in that department.
Yes I believe Bob Cline is correct. The 1st half of the show opened with somewhat of a three ring look. The second half was performed with the ring curb in the configuration shown in the picture.
Fred and Walter's display made quite an impression as you can see in the photo. Having I believe 9 elephants in the herd at the time, not using the ring curb made one feel there were more than 9 bulls in the presentation.
Buckles ! I understand you met my eye in the sky spy who reported to me at intermission of the premier performance of the new Ken & Nicole show at the club during Animal Trainer night.
The cats out of the bag!!! I need a new spy!!!

Rebecca, Fred and the lady are in costume? The rest of the handlers most likely drift into the background except for this trick? Gary
Gary, I spent most of my time, when not training watching performers both animal and human. I listened to the people seated next to me. I found that the hardest trick for the trainers was not appricated as much as a simple trick with lots of flash, The best received performace was when all the people and animals were in costume. Kelly Miller Circus made an impression on me as the prop crew were dressed in black slacks, white shirts and bow ties. Very clean looking. The people watching the show notice these little things. It makes a world of difference for a class circus.
I recall at Circus World all Buckles staff wore Tan Kahkies. A very clean, practical & appropiate respectiable atire for there various duties & cercomstances.
Rebecca; your K.M. tale sounds stylish!
I have some exelent photos of Freddy & his grandaughter one season late 199? in this floorplan & if I recall it correctly he did a long mount right down the middle of the " RING/TENT " as his glorious finale. He & His grandaughter working togeather were very charged up that season ! - ( a very proud duo for very good reasons & it showed )
Having double clicked this photo I now believe this "is " that act I just spoke of & the young ladie in the turquoise costume to the Captains right IS HIS GRANDAUGHTER !
