Clyde Beatty Circus 1954/ Coleen Alpaugh

The smaller elephants at the back end of the long mount are "Pete", "Sue" and "Dena" whom you may remember as having grown up on the show.

Overslept this morning. Yesterday was Ben's 53rd Birthday and he took his family and us to the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City. Our table was butted right up against a slightly elevated stage where a troupe of Flaminco dances did some serious stomping and yelling.

Buckles, What is the most number of elephants that you ever had doing the long mount at once? Was it when you did the Blue unit? Can't quite remember how many there were on that show or in the long mount.

We carried 22 elephants and they all made the long mount except the 2 Africans and little "Charlie".
The 19 we used pretty well filled up the front track and I doubt I would ever have used any more. By the time the last elephants are mounted up the ones in front have bourne the load as long as I thought they should.
