Circus Music #1

This is a big weekend for the Windjammers, they play a concert at the Ringling Museum this afternoon, their Banquet is tonight and tomorrow they close out by playing for the Sailor Circus performance.
So in their honor, a picture of the most famous circus band leader of all time, Merle Evans.

Don't forget to pack your homeopatic remedy kit. One never knows when you might need this $100 item. Mine would include a case of BEER. Master card, a very close friend of the other sex. It pays to be prepared at all times. The needles and tranquilizers should be left at home.

When did this wonderful man leave us? I may have him mixed up with another fine leader, Sullivan? Who wrote most of the circus music? Did someone put together music from other writers to go with a certain act? Was there a circus composer that wrote from scratch for an act?
