Madison Sq. Garden 1978 #1


As I recall the Daily News was doing an elephant story and this photographer was following us around. Here we are getting ready for a performance, that's "Anna May" at left behind Ted Svertesky, the next group is the Ring 1 act "Minyak", "Mala", "Barbara", "Josky" and "Sophie", behind Gary Jacobson are "Vance" and "Sid".

Buckles, you forgot to mention that at The Garden, we were 5 floors up to the bottom floor of the arena. Also if you remember I almost backed up the sewer system there because Charlie Baumann wanted his tiger cages scrubbed clean while we were there for 13 weeks. I made one Hell of a mess, but got his damn cat cages cleaner than ever! Best, Gary

That is so cool, I work with Minyak now, it's really neat to see a picture of her when she was smaller!

Hi Buckles,
Do you have info on MinYak and Sabu being purchased by Bartok from Hugo Schmidt about 1962 (?) and later being sold to Dorey? Minyak died soon after and Sabu not long after that. Just curious as to where the other MinYak came from.
