Col Tim McCoy's Real Wild West #1

My buddy, Jim Elliott and I drove down to the Ringling Museum yesterday where I donated a few items and in so doing he loaned me these pictures which help to fill out the 1938 Tim McCoy season.
Steve Flint and John Goodall also provided information. The show actually had a 19 day tour, opening with a 10 day stand in the Chicago Amptheater and playing Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Parkersburg and Clarksburg before folding in Washington D.C.
The show had a top flight staff with Buster Cronin Mgr., Clint Finney Agt., and Ralph Williams in charge of the Press.
The show was mounted on 40 cars and went on the cuff to the tune of $400,000 and due to a downtrend in the economy and being over extended it was doomed from the start.

The Tim McCoy Show was sold at auction on August 1, 1938 at the freight station in Washington, DC. Many of the wagons went back to Springfield Wagon Co. The white ticket wagon went to RBBB, the blue ticket wagon to Royal American. A couple of light plants purchased by Springfield Wagon Co.were sold to Royal American.
Johnny J. Jones Carnival purchased the pie car, two flats and a Mack water truck.Hennins Bros. Shows purchased 10 flats.

John G.,
Thank you very much for the information. I am going to try and track the wagon sold to Royal American.
My friend Ivan Arnold, who is also in the carnival business, owns about 24 old Royal wagons. Also, the I.I.S.A. owns afew Royal wagons. It would be nice, if, one of these wagons was the one we are talking about.
Thanks Again,
Jim Elliott
