Clyde and Harriett Beatty

This is Clyde and Harriett with a bunch of West Coast people, maybe at Louis Goebel's place.
Melvin Koontz, Frank Phillips, John "Chubby Guilfoyle and unknown party.
Clyde Beatty, (could the lady holding the monkey be Kathy Goebel and her daughter in front?) and at right I like this informal picture of your grandmother.

This picture of Mel Koontz makes my search easier. This is not the man I met in Canada. Mel was every good looking. I would have paid more attention. Its female thing.

The fellow standing at right is W.J. (Billy) Richards, who teamed with Trader Horne in 1946 to buy Goebel's Lion Farm, which they re-named World Jungle Compound--so Buckles's photo would date from then. That is Kathleen (Mrs. Louis) Goebel with the monkey, and the effervescent young lady in front is her daughter, Alma. Kathleen died at 98, on October 31, 2004. Alma lives in Oregon. John C. (Chubby) Guilfoyle, 2nd from right, was Beatty's second mentor, following Louis Roth, and was Pat Anthony's primary teacher when Pat broke in under the GI Bill. Pat had to sustain himself on this government pittance of $80 a month.
