Hello Buckles, Of interest is the TJ on the seat. It's the late 40's to mid 50's since the float has rubber wheels but the wagons in the background are still wooden. Is the TJ for Terrell Jacobs and where was the photo taken because even though Terrell Jacobs had his own show for a little while, did he have that much equipment as shown in the background? When my dad had Terrell's elephants in Peru I remember he had a lot of stuff there. Circus Fans loved it but it was impractical since the elephants, lions and equipment all had to move by system flats and baggage cars.

This particular float was laid with gold.
(I saw a color photograph of it once,I believe its at Circus World Museum at Baraboo Wisconsin now.
