In the background behind Mr. Anderson is Mac MacDonald who had just finished training the 3 elephants he is standing with "Modoc", "Empress" and "Judy". Prior to this job he was Larry Davis assistant with the Ringling Show but these were his first to train from scratch. The three punks with white headpieces were newly imported and as you can see, hadn't been fattened up yet, the one at right died right away, Mac said it was liver flukes, the other two "Bonnie" and "India" remained for many years. The jungle is not the paradise we are led to believe.
