Beers-Barnes Circus 1937/ Pole wagon


This was the way pole wagons looked when I was a kid. The center poles rode overhead on the two racks at the front and back of the trailer and on the Wallace Show actually extended over the tractor which I thought was extremely nifty.

Can't you just see this rig going down todays highways? Talk about permits! I saw the metal seats on Kelly Miller and was very impressed. They were so nice. I had only seen the wooden slats seats on the circus. It was so much fun explaining little things like that to my friend. I had warned her about the restroom facilitys but she told me they were not that bad. Johnny on the spots are a real treat in comparison to donikars. I would have liked for her to have seen the crew dismantal the show but we ran out of time. It was strange not haveing center poles.
