Polack Bros. Circus 1947/ Chicago

George Powers sold his elephants to the Polack Show "Lena" and "Jennie" are seen in the center. The two younger elephants at left are "Bonnie" and "India" acquired from Arthur Bros. Circus along with Cheerful Gardner who now worked the act.
The elephants traveled by baggage car in those days and I suspect this shot was taken on their arrival in town. This is the best dressed elephant man I ever saw, it is certainly not Gardner.
