Fred Dahlinger made a correction, pointing out that C.D. Fredricks was the photographer not the performer.
Stewart Thayer adds that he can find no act of this type listed with the Nixon Show or any other circus in 1863 and suggests that it might be a Music Hall act.
Buckles
Are we talking record player cover or protection from rotten tomatoes? Some times when I hear a piece of music I see the circus act being performed in my head. I played the CNE the year the Rocketts danced to Hello Dolly. That was my cue to get the animals ready as the next act. I never saw the Rocketts perform but hate that music to this day.
