Back when I was 4 or 5, I was a faithful listener to the Clyde Beatty Radio Show (which aired from 1950 to 1952.) Harriett Beatty (as portrayal in the series by radio actress Eve McVeagh) established my earliest standard for what I thought the ideal wife should be. (On that show, the part of Clyde Beatty was played by radio actor Vic Perrin.)
