Doesn't Mr Weaver sign his work, or is this not the full image?

I was privileged to meet Otto 5 times, and to visit with him in the Alley. His trunk wasn't red-hued like this, it was the standard well-worn black. In it, he had posted a 5 x 7 photo of Emmett Kelly, to scorn those who walked up to him in his hobo makeup, saying, "Hello, Emmett." He hated this, pointing to the photo, angrily proclaiming, "I'm not Emmett! DOT's Emmett! I don't look like dot."

Otto was the best....Always made me laugh...In my opinion, he never received the recognition he deserved.....

As I noted here before, and it bears repeating, Albert White told me, "Otto is the only clown who makes other clowns laugh."

During the Depression, Emmett Kelly was known to spend his last dime to have a publicist get his name and photo in the press, until at last he got a foothold on fame. Otto never worked his career the same way, so Kelly became a name attraction, while Otto held the hearts of the audience and his fellow showfolks.
