Puts me in mind of CARNIVAL STORY (RKO, 1954), in which Lyle Bettger (our Klaus) and Oscar-winner Anne Baxter did high diving, except their flames were from gas sloshed across the water, said to be 125 feet below. Excellent diving shots, achieved by Director Kurt Neumann, who helmed Clyde Beatty's first picture, Universal's THE BIG CAGE, 1933.

I wish I had a photo of a very high dive
from a hot air balloon that Joe Gerlach
an olympic diving champion did during
an outdoor version of Jimmy Harrington's
Gran Circo Panamericano in the ballpark
Estadio Hiram Bithorn befor the coliseum
was built next to it on Avenida Roosevelt
Joe defected from Poland after winning
his olympic gold to become a stunt man
out in California & partnered with balloon
owner Bill ?? to perform at Fairs as well
as at outdoor circus dates & events
Although the balloon was tethered it
still wandered in the breeze (scary)
Joe & I spent many of our days together
wandering in San Juan as on weekdays we
only had 1 evening performance at 8
