I believe it was Art Concello who

put together the American production

I well recall seeing Oleg Popov

Valentin Filatov's bears & a

juggling strongman along with

these terrific Cossack Riders

Fastest running into & around

the ring ever imagined

I saw this production, also, when it played Dallas. Concello indeed had the Front End, and my great pal Russell Dain Darr led the band.

For no GOOD reason I recall the

director was Nicholai Kondakov

I was head frontlight at the time

& through a translator he gave

me the show's lighting cues

All fairly simple & very easy

In those years only the frontlight

operators were Local One & all the

rest were IBEW electricians & the

stage crews were other trade locals

Nowadays ALL stagehand positions

are Local One led by a very good

friend Adam Braunstein who is also

the Vice President of the Local
