During our ill-fated 1980 Winter Tour of Beatty-Cole, we naturally (for that show) went right back up I-95, into the big cities of the East. It was, as we know, as Presidential campaign year, and in each town, we day-and-dated either Carter or Reagan. Guess where the TV cameras went. We were lucky to get a syllable of notice. I got a close-up look at Carter, in Pittsburgh, but never saw "my" candidate, Reagan--so Fred Pfening is one up on me again.
