Years of research allow me to claim Jacot's career as the longest of the stateside trainers. Beatty had 44 years, Mabel Stark had 57, and if the years I've found are accurate, Jacot's career in the cage spanned 61 seasons. He got on at age 20, already capable of breaking an act, and his name turns up around the Corporation shows. He worked steadily, and after many years at the St. Louis Zoo, was at last let go. He found his last few seasons a struggle, but carried on until his passing at age 81. Jim Alexander might provide more definitive details.
