We have seen here among the most iconic circus photos ever taken, with Ernestine executing a split jump, some 6 feet above Stranger. In this shot, she is in practice clothes. Her grandmother, Elizabeth Hanneford is not in the shot, but served as ringmistress, monitoring the gait of Stranger. When Stranger knew Ernestine was ready, he gave his rump an extra lift, propelling her to the added height. Recently, Kim Baer sent me a second shot of this jump, with Ernestine in show wardrobe, and the effect is even better.
