Sidney Rink.

For at least 4 of his years on the Barnes show, Sidney Rink was Superintendent of Elephants, a most significant level of respect from the owner, in an era when black men were not called African-American. According to a Chang Reynolds series of articles for BANDWAGON, Rink held that post from 1917 to 1920. His name is featured throughout the program, also famed for his comedy mules. Rink was a hell of a circus man who overcame racial barriers to achieve exceptional respect, recognition we later saw afforded to Manuel "Junior" Ruffin.
