Beatty's front on Johnny J. Jones, in the very early '40s. By happenstance, Jones wintered for years in the old Volusia County Fairgrounds, which became the home of the Beatty show, under new ownership, at the close of 1956. After most of a half-century, the Winterquarters is now no more, at the mercy of Florida's climate.
