Oldest Elephant of record Lin Wang

Grandpa Lin as he was known carried

supplies through the jungles of Burma

for the Japanese during World War II

He was taken prisoner by the Chinese

He retired to the Taipei Zoo in 1954

where he died in 2003 at age 86
