This is the Kelly-Miller elephant herd in 1949. "Margaret", "Tena", "Elsie", "Jess", "Daisy",  "Vic", "Dixie", "Myrtle"  and three untrained punks delivered late in the season "Jennie" named after D.R. and Kelly's mother, "Kay" Kelly,s daughter and "Barbara" the current Carson & Barnes owner. The man at left is Capt. Jack Lorenzo who despite having been at Hall's Cellar wasn't interested in the newest additions so D.R. made a deal with my Dad with the understanding they would frame a lion act for Jack (which didn't materialize). The gentlemen at right are Bob "Peanut Nose" Shoen and John Carroll.
