I never worked a hammer gang around the top, but remember like yesterday when Harry Ross and I drove Herbie Weber's long irons. OK, youngsters, what's a long iron, and give me two reasons why it was needed?

A Carney sledge has a pipe sleeve about 4 inches long welded to the hammer and extending down the wooden handle. Makes for a dummy proof shattering of the handle. Leave it to the Carnies. How ABOUT THAT.
